The Cherokee County Commissioners Art Competition is an annual initiative created to celebrate and promote the creative spirit of Cherokee County’s high school students. Hosted by Cherokee Recreation and Parks, the program provides young artists with a meaningful opportunity to showcase their talents through a judged competition that highlights their artistic skill.
Now in our fourth year, the program continues to grow in reach and impact. With dedicated marketing efforts and expanded community collaboration, student participation has risen to 40 entries and doubling last year’s submissions. This growth reflects not only the enthusiasm of our students but also the expanding support that empowers their creativity.

The year’s theme, “Inspired Here,” invited students to reflect on what inspires them here in Cherokee County highlighting the places, people, and moments that matter most. Through their artwork, participants shared meaningful personal perspectives that resonated throughout the community.

1st place – $500 award
2nd place – $250 award
3rd place – $150 award
Cherokee Choice – $100 award, voted by your community
