The Coder School brings an exciting opportunity for Fall Break.
Get ready for a week where Minecraft meets real-world drone technology!
In this hands-on camp, students will spend the week exploring two of their favorite things: building and modifying Minecraft worlds and coding real drones.
Campers will learn how to customize and mod their Minecraft creations, experiment with coding concepts, and then take those same problem-solving skills into the real world by programming drones to perform tricks, navigate challenges, and fly in synchronized formations.
Minecraft Modding
Kids will go beyond simply playing Minecraft. They’ll learn how to modify and customize their Minecraft experience, experiment with new features, create unique builds, and use coding concepts to bring their ideas to life.
Students will work on increasingly complex Minecraft projects throughout the week while learning fundamentals of logic, programming, problem-solving, and digital design.
Drone Coding
Then we’ll take coding off the screen and into the real world!
Campers will learn to program educational drones using a Scratch-like block coding language and Python. They’ll experiment with flight commands, loops, sequences, movements, tricks, and challenges.
Depending on weather and conditions, drone activities will take place outdoors at a local park pavilion, giving students the opportunity to see their code actually control a flying machine.
