Discover how Artificial Intelligence helps scientists understand the natural world! Campers explore the park, collect real environmental data, and build beginner coding projects that analyze patterns in nature. Activities blend hands-on outdoor exploration with approachable AI and data science concepts , no experience required. Perfect for curious kids who love both nature and technology.

Build your coding skills and learn programming fundamentals by creating real projects.

Go beyond simple 1-day games! In this week-long camp, participants design and develop a game that is completely their own. Using the 8-bit fantasy console PICO-8 (lexaloffle.com), students create graphics, sound, and write code in the popular Lua scripting language.

On the final day, students publish their games online to Lexaloffle, where they can be played worldwide and receive feedback from the PICO-8 community.

What to bring: Laptop, packed lunch, and snacks.
Notes: PICO-8 is a $15 one-time purchase, but a free educational browser edition works for camp. The paid version allows exporting games outside PICO-8. Students will need a free account on lexaloffle.com.

Take Flight. Code. Explore.

Kids learn how drones work while completing exciting outdoor flight missions and STEM challenges. Campers practice safe drone flying, discover the technology behind drones, complete hands-on engineering challenges, and explore basic coding concepts — all in an outdoor/indoor park setting. The week wraps up with each camper earning their Young Pilot Certificate. This camp combines technology, teamwork, and outdoor adventure, making it perfect for curious kids who love both gadgets and active learning.

• • What’s Included: All drone equipment (we bring the drones!), coding materials, engineering challenge supplies, and Young Pilot Certificate.

Campers need to bring their own laptop (Windows or Mac, required), comfortable weather-appropriate clothing, closed-toe shoes (required for flight activities), sunscreen and a hat, a reusable water bottle, a nut-free lunch and snacks, and a backpack or bag.

Learn programming and problem-solving while creating your own video game.

Aimed at ages 8-10, this camp focuses on teaching programming and problem-solving fundamentals using the free online resource Scratch (scratch.mit.edu). Students will be guided through completing one game each day of camp and will be shown how to share their games on the Scratch website. Please pack a lunch and snacks. Bring your own laptop.
