Take your game ideas from concept to playable reality.
Unlock your potential by designing and developing a game entirely your own! This camp emphasizes creative freedom and the iterative process of game development, rather than step-by-step instruction. Students learn valuable software development practices, adding a new tool to their kit each day and deciding how best to implement them in their project.
By the end of the week, participants will publish their games online on itch.io, sharing their creations with the world.
What to bring: Laptop, packed lunch, and snacks.
Notes: This class uses PICO-8 (lexaloffle.com), a $15 one-time purchase. A free educational browser edition works for camp, but the paid version is needed to export games outside PICO-8. Students will need a free account on lexaloffle.com.
