Guns & Hoses 5K

The Guns & Hoses 5K is a certified race for the Peachtree Qualifier!

We had a blast at the race this year, and we are looking forward to next year’s race on Saturday, February 12th, 2022 at Hobgood Park.

Cherokee Recreation and Parks Agency hosted its 15th annual 5K Run/Walk and Fun Run on February 20th, 2021. The purpose of the run is to raise money for charity causes selected by both groups, Guns & Hoses. The charity for Cherokee Sheriff’s Office is Sheriff Frank Reynolds Charities which is dedicated to raise money through events and fundraising to help fulfill the needs of the people of Cherokee County and assist other charitable organizations who support our community. The charity for the Cherokee County Fire Department is The Goshen Valley Boys Ranch which is a non-profit home serving young men in the state foster care system. When registering, the runner selected the team that they wanted to represent and a portion of their fee went towards their chosen charity.

We had 358 people register for our 15th annual Guns & Hoses including the in-person 5K, virtual 5k & the Fun Run!!

In total, 191 people registered to support the Cherokee County Fire Department and 165 people registered to support the Cherokee Sheriff’s Department.

All in all, Cherokee County came together and raised $4,176 to help support 2 fantastic charities! Goshen Valley Boys Ranch will receive $2,244 and Sheriff Frank Reynolds Charities will receive $1,932.
