Cherokee Recreation and Parks are hosting the second annual Live Like Laken 5K Run/Walk on October 25, 2025, at Hobgood Park in Woodstock, GA. The purpose of this 5K is to raise money for The Laken Hope Foundation, Inc. which supports existing organizations that promote safety awareness for women, aid, and tuition assistance for nursing students and children’s healthcare. These were all causes that Laken felt strongly about, and she held near and dear to her heart. Laken Riley was a student at Augusta University after attending UGA, where she was studying to become a nurse. Laken’s untimely death was avoidable and tragic. Our ultimate goal is to promote safety awareness and prepare women in the event they are ever in danger. We will be handing out safety products and providing information centered around programs that champion safety awareness. Thank you for everyone’s continued love and support.
