Summer Camps Are Filling Up FAST!

Summer is almost here and that means summer camps are approaching fast! Cherokee Recreation & Parks’ camps strive to provide each participant with high quality recreational experiences that will be beneficial throughout their lives, as well as provide fun in a safe atmosphere, conducive to the growth of each child. See below for a wide variety of camps we have planned for Summer 2021! You can register for any of our summer camps right now! Adventures Express Camp
Adventures Express Summer Camp is excited to offer a place where parents can send their children to come PLAY with us throughout the duration of the summer! We will venture out on at least two field trips a week to our surrounding county parks, community fun centers such as Stars & Strikes, Sparkles & more. There will also be in-house field trip opportunities throughout the summer. Weeks will be themed with daily activities ranging from arts and crafts, organized games, free play, bounce houses, outside playground activities and much more! 

Dates: June 1 - July 30 (No camp July 5 - 9)
Time: 7:00 am - 9:00 am drop-off
9:00 am - 4:00 pm camp activities
4:00 pm - 6:00 pm pick up
Ages: Kindergarten - 12 years old
Locations: The Cherokee County Recreation Center, Carmel Elementary School Gymnasium and Hickory Flat School Gymnasium.
Cost: $150 per week. A $50 deposit is due at registration each week (non-refundable). Deposit goes toward $150 weekly total.

K.A.O.S Camp
KAOS Camp is a super fun summer camp for individuals with special needs. In addition to exciting activities and field trips, participants will receive daily enrichment activities. 

Dates: June 1 – July 23 (No camp July 5 - 9)
Time: 9:00 am – 3:00 pm
Ages: 6 - 22 years of age
Location: TBD
Cost: $150 per week. A $50 deposit is due at registration each week (non-refundable). Deposit goes toward $150 weekly total.

Fishing Camp
New and returning campers will learn the basics of fishing including knot tying, how to bait a hook, what types of bait to use, safety measures, and how to handle and care for the fish they catch. They will also learn new strategies, tactics, advanced knot tying, and much more. Campers will fish for catfish, bass, bream, crappie, and trout by taking field trips to new locations each day. Cherokee Recreation & Parks will provide ALL fishing equipment needed.

Outdoor Camp for Teens
Join us for a daily dose of adventure recreation! Camp activities will include climbing, hiking, archery, kayaking, ropes course, and white water rafting!

Dates: June 28 – July 2
Time: 9:00 am – 4:00 pm
Ages: 13 - 15 years of age
Location: Recreation Center

Waterlogged Camp
Put on your swimsuit, lather on the sunscreen, and grab your towel! We are heading to various water field trips throughout the week (White Water, Lake Lanier, Cherokee County Aquatic Center, Terminus Park, and more). This includes hours of supervised fun with friends, transportation to and from all trips as well as various lunches included on certain trips.

Dates: Session 1: June 14 – 18, Session 2: July 12 - 16
Time: 9:00 am – 4:00 pm
Ages: 9 -12 years of age

Water Adventure Camp for Teens
Join us for a daily dose of adventures that contain water! Camp activities will include water based theme parks and white water rafting!

Dates: July 19 – 23
Time: 9:00 am – 4:00 pm
Ages: 13 - 15 years of age

Lego Camp
Power up your engineering skills with Play-Well TEKnologies and tens of thousands of LEGO parts. Apply real world concepts in physics, engineering, and architecture through engineer-designed projects such as airboats, double decker bus ride through London, Minecart, & Nether Portal. Participants will design and build as never before while exploring their craziest ideas.

Date: Transportation Engineering Session: June 14 – 18, Minecraft Engineering Session: July 19 - 23
Time: 9:00 am -12:00 pm for ages 5-7 & 1:00 pm - 4:00 pm for ages 8-12

Magic Camp
Learn the closely guarded secrets of magic performances from one of Atlanta's best magicians; Jeffrey Williams, "THE GREAT IMPO." In this amazing class you will learn to make objects vanish in mid-air and reappear again in a different location, read a spectator's thoughts, predict future events, and many more miraculous feats of magic! Students will gain valuable social skills and develop the confidence to perform in front of a group of their peers. At the end of the week-long camp, there will be a special Magic Show where the entire family is invited to see the students perform their favorite tricks they have learned. All of the materials are included in the price, and the students make a special magic box that they can store their magic in and take home at the end of camp.
