Small Group Personal Training
Small Group Personal Training is our most personalized training experience and perfect for the 50 plus age group! Work with your certified trainer in a fun, energetic, semi-private setting (no more than 5 participants). In planning your sessions, the trainer will take into consideration any current medical conditions, then discuss goals, and evaluate your fitness level. Each training session is specifically designed for each group and based on the fitness level of each participant. Enjoy a different functional training workout each session, incorporating flexibility, core, balance, stabilization, fall prevention, strength and power. You will increase health and longevity and have more energy to better enjoy activities, travel and spend time with your family! Taught by Gina Baumgartner, Certified NASM CPT, SFS.

Would you like to meet new people, get out of the house for interesting activities, day trips and have fun with other active adults? If you said yes, come check out the Silver Roamers. We meet once a month to discuss upcoming events, participate in early registration and visit with each other. Silver Roamers receive the member cost on trips and guest are always welcome for an additional fee. (Usually $10) The Silver Roamers have 2-3 events each month including a monthly meeting and a lunch bunch group that likes to try various restaurants in our area. To join, simply come by the Cherokee County Senior Services at 1001 Univeter Road in Canton, the Recreation center, 7545 Main St in Woodstock or you may register online. You are invited to join us for one of our monthly meetings if you want to check us out.
What is the history of the Silver Roamers?
The Silver Roamers is a membership club for active adults, age 50 and up, that was established by Cherokee Recreation and Parks staff over 15 years ago. Since that time, we have visited many great places, had lots of fun and made many friendships along the way. The Silver Roamers are now under the umbrella of Cherokee County Senior Services and are continuing the great tradition that was started by Cherokee Recreation and Parks. Our monthly meeting begins at 11, is over by 1 and is scheduled for the first Tuesday of each month. The Bluffs (Cherokee Conference Center) is our location for the monthly meeting. Besides the 2-3 day trips monthly, we have occasional overnight trips and a couple of Mystery trips. The Silver Roamers are a great way to socialize, meet new people, and see many interesting places and experiences.
What are the benefits of my annual $30 membership fee?
A monthly newsletter is emailed to you updating you on the latest Silver Roamers news. Our monthly meeting offers a catered lunch each month and is free to most members. Silver Roamer members are also able to participate in a free weekly water exercise class at the Cherokee Aquatic center.
What if I have to cancel for a trip I’ve signed up for?
We know things come up unexpectedly and you may have to cancel. If you cancel prior to a day trip you may be able to receive a full 100% credit if money has not been paid out on that trip. If tickets are purchased for an event in advance such a Braves game or theatre ticket, refunds are not available unless someone else is able to use the ticket. Refunds are usually in the form of an account credit that you may use for any future activity or a credit card refund if a card was used for your registration. If you prefer a refund, a $5 automatic, administrative fee is deducted. This applies for day trips only; overnight trips vary.
How do the Silver Roamers travel?
We pick up at the indicated times at the Boys and Girls Club on Univeter Rd in Canton or the Senior Center also on Univeter Rd. We travel in Senior Services vehicles which consist of a 28-passenger bus, and a 14-passenger mini bus. For events that are close by, many members drive and meet us there.
What if there is inclement weather?
All trips are subject to cancelation due to inclement weather. Any cancelation will be announced as soon as possible. If an inclement weather warning is issued for Cherokee County, the trip is automatically canceled. If the trip cannot be rescheduled, we will issue a full credit to your account. If you choose not to travel due to your own concerns, credits will be issued on a case-by-case basis.
